I have only had the extract as syrup on pancakes, but it can apparently be steamed/boiled and used like rice.I hear it is pretty bland, but it is such a beautiful plant.

Used to grow it on the family farm back in Wisconsin, grew a lot like sugar cane. Would harvest in the fall, take it to a processor who would crush, get the juice out and boil down like we did with maple syrup. Was a very thick type of syrup, but was good on toast or pancakes. Memories
My Yote toys, Ruger 77 22-250 Foxpro 416B & numerous hand calls ************ God would never send Firefighters to Hell because we would put the fire out!
