TPWD screwed the pooch when they started to allow WT breeding.

So how do you explain the presence of CWD in areas that have zero whitetail breeders?

As of Dec. 2023 121, Texas counties have received possibly infected breeder deer that cannot be located. Putting 141,000 landowners at risk of the disease. Read "Chronic Wasting Disease in Texas"

Don’t think breeders are the problem, what we should do is mandate testing of EVERY deer killed, That way the data isn’t was skewed toward breeders since they do 90% of the testing.

Texas didn’t get CWD from breeders first, discovered in TX via Free range mule deer in far west TX hundreds of miles from any breeder

Shows how much you know about breeding anything. You also showed your lack of intelligence on AR's.

Just my opinion, but I think if there was a way to test 100% of the deer in 100% of the counties in Texas, we would find CWD already present in every county.

More people might take it more serious and care about it if tpwd was more transparent about it. But they continue to make huge decisions on the matter when questions can’t be answered. What ever happened to their positive test inside their own facility? False positive? Lmao

At some point in time, it’s certainly possible.

Especially if the property ever had sheep or goats.

I think that’s why the west popped hot so densely, makes sense if the first observed case was in an old scarpies research facility, Yotes are real good at eliminating observation opportunities and carcasses.

Toss in fact how fresh the test material needs to be, and you pretty much get your anwser on why it hunter kill sampling 99% of the time,

Now add the fact that the testing facilities and positive retest protocol in some states such as Texas are very “interesting “

Until they provide a legitimate explanation for how it got from Colorado to Norway and Korea im remaining convinced it’s natural and been here forever. Also, i love the way they got 2 positives in their own facility here in Kerr county, then conveniently had secondary tests show negative, and then kill all the evidence…. Gotta protect the cash cow.

Yeah, that’s what I was referring to. In a secure facility put in place by tpwd, a research facility at that. Why not keep them contained and research cwd? Noticed how they didn’t come in and eradicate the entire herd either?

The protocol to double check initial positives is hilarious, results go back to the state so you may or may not get your false positive results, well if you are State owned you dang sure will 😂

No way would the state ever admit to having CWD inside the Kerr. It’s been a closed herd for decades….but….before it was a WMA, it had sheep and goats on it…

They buried it to avoid litigation and a giant egg on their face.

Oh yeah, the second time they got a positive they certainly did eradicate the entire research herd. Conveniently, just before they “mysteriously” got the second negative test result. Hence the “protect their cash cow” comment.

The second test was also done at an out of state testing facility that had never been used prior.

So everyone else had to have testing done here, but TPWD can use an out of state one.
