I'm "that" guy that electronics just do not like... I have an older Foxpro game caller-not sure what the model name is but I've had it about 7 years, maybe a few years longer. Recently it gave up the ghost. Both the caller (speaker) itself, and the hand held remote light up and appear to be working when turned on.. But no sound comes from the caller any more. I put brand new batteries in both units (have you seen what they want for batteries lately?????!!!!!!). $23 JUST for new batteries to test it and make sure it was not bad batteries, and it does not work.
I rolled over to Academy to see what they had on the shelf. I found the new Foxpro Hellcat for $269.xx plus tax. I bought it. Took the brand new batteries out of my old caller, put them in the new caller, and headed to the woods. Upon arrival I found I had a problem. The remote would not power up.. Thinking maybe my new battery was already dead.. I put in the 2nd new 9 volt battery.. Still the remote would not power up. I took the first 9 volt battery and stuck it on my tongue. Surefire way to test that type of battery in the field.. YEP! It was quite alive.. remote will NOT power up though on a brand new unit. I played with the battery to make sure it was seated and inserted correctly.. Finally the remote powered up but it would only show the "FOXPRO" start up screen.. Remote would not respond to any button presses. Would not even turn OFF when holding down the power button. Had to remove the battery to get it to power off. After that I threw it in my back pack and moved on. A little while later I pulled the remote out of my backpack to jack with it and low and behold it was ON!!! I don't know when it turned itself on, but I took advantage of it and used it for a while... Then I turned the remote OFF, and tried to turn it back ON...No Go. Remote will not power back on.. Threw it in my backpack and began moving again... Stopped a little while later and pulled the remote out to find that the unit had turned itself back ON again... Turned it off and put it back in my back pack... Got home and went to put the caller back in the box to return it... and find the remote is ON again.....!!!! I turned the remote OFF, and then tried to power it back up again-NO GO!
This brand new caller is going back for a full refund.. I will NOT be buying Foxpro again.. I HATE the soft buttons on the remote.. You can't tell if you are actually depressing them. I also DO NOT LIKE the rear part of the caller (speaker) as it is rounded and you can't point the caller speaker straight up without the unit falling over. You have to try and prop it up against something, or use sticks to get it to sit in an upright position. I use my caller for Trash Pandas and need it to be able to sit upright.. So... I guess... Disgusted with Foxpro at this time. Gonna ship my old unit to them to see if they can fix it.. If they can't or just want me to buy the newer version, I'll just move on to another brand.

I’m not much of a fan of electronic callers, but there’s just some things I can’t do via mouth calls such as fights. I bought a FoxPro X24 in January and promptly put it to use on trash pandas. It worked flawlessly on them and crows. Used it a few weeks later on pasture poodles and again it worked well there.
FoxPro has a great warranty, so I’d give them a call prior to just returning it.
