I see that some of you have solar powered IR lights at your feeders. What brand and where can I find them.
Thanks
ChazCZ

Let me know if you find any worth trying. I did a quick search (didn't put a ton of time into it) and found a few that were solar but didn't seem powerful enough to have any benefit.

I'm thinking about setting up a nice solar panel to a battery bank and running a few AC versions that are designed for security cameras. This is not ideal from a expense perspective as quality batteries and solar panels can be pricy.

Another thought is to just go with a nice solar LED setup. Pigs will get use to the light. It just needs to be setup high enough so that it cast as little shadow as possible. I'm thinking about trying one of these mounted 10' - 12' in the air. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=solar+led+street+light&crid=K4GB4ZM5QWNG&sprefix=solar+LED+Street%2Caps%2C120&ref=nb_sb_ss_pltr-sample-20_1_16

I have been using simple 100-120 led solar security lights off ebay again. They usually cost around $30 or more. I put two at each feeder from different directions as high as I can reach standing on top of a step ladder. Since I install two I have a backup if one stops working or if raccoons mess with one. I have only had one go bad on me in two years. That one works, but dim and may just need new rechargeable 16650 batteries installed. The hogs get used to the light and it flashing on works well to alert me when something is at the feeder. I started with a commercial green hog light several years ago that was barely bright enough light to make anything out. Then went to a security light, but back then they were more expensive and not as bright. Went to a street light that stayed on all night, but I had nothing but trouble with those lasting very long. I then went to murs sensors and night vision only, but off target animals drove me nuts checking it with a monocular every time the alarm went off. Going back to security lights, and also using the murs for when I am sleeping has been the best for me. Since I don't need night vision if hunting feeders, so I usually just use whatever rifle I feel like on any particular night and save the night vision for walking the fields. I get more than enough light from those security lights. They are bright enough that they will not always last all night if there is a lot of activity and overcast days, but they last longer than I do.

Also, make sure the lights are pointing away from your shooting position. You’ll see why quickly enough.

Thanks to all that replied. I ended up just going with 2 green solar led lights pointed in a v shape going away from me. They let me see whats there then I use my thermal scope.

Hey ChazCZ! If you’re looking for solar-powered IR lights for your feeders, a popular brand to check out is Wildgame Innovations. They offer solar-powered options that are designed for game feeders and trail cameras. Another brand that folks seem to like is Moultrie—they have some solid solar-powered lights that work well with feeders and attractants. You can usually find these at outdoor or hunting retailers like Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, or Academy Sports. Amazon also carries a variety of options, so it might be worth browsing there for reviews and pricing.
Just make sure to pick one with a good range and enough solar power to last through the night, especially if you’re setting it up in a spot that doesn’t get full sun all day. Hope that helps. You can also watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjScg5ONuI0
