Now booking prairie dog hunts on the South Plains of Texas. You will have sole access to a large colony on 380 acres that sees very little pressure - literally thousands of prairie dogs. To ensure light pressure, we will only book 2 groups per month. There have only been two groups hunt in 2024. Openings run from May-early October. We can accommodate groups of 1-6 people, with 3-4 being ideal. Property also has a shooting range with distance markings up to 800 yards - limited steel targets available. You can safely shoot at prairie dogs to well over 1000 yards if long distance shooting is your desire. Other varmints are available as the opportunity presents. This is a self-guided hunt. I will meet with you before the hunt for orientation, boundaries, and to answer any questions that you might have. After that, I will check on you occasionally throughout your stay for any assistance. A UTV is recommended, but not necessary, as several plant species exist that are hard on tires (mesquite, horse cripplers, cholla stumps, etc.) If it is wet due to recent rains, a capable 4wd vehicle is a necessity to get to, from, and around the property - all roads are 100% dirt with a deep topsoil. Absolutely no alcohol before or during shooting activities. No smoking as it is an operational livestock outfit (livestock will be penned/fed for the duration of your stay.) Property is located 28 miles NE of downtown Lubbock -- lots of hotel and dining options within 30 minutes. No meals or lodging provided. References available. Pricing structure for the remainder of 2024: 1st day - $150 per hunter (No “non-hunters” – if you are on the property, you must pay. No exceptions.) Additional day(s) - $100 per hunter $500 minimum per group regardless of number of hunters or days. $250 non-refundable deposit (Venmo preferred.) Balance and a signed liability waiver from each hunter due upon arrival. Dates are not held until deposit is received. No exceptions. Bookings for 2025 are accepted, but the pricing structure is not guaranteed. We will re-evaluate the pricing structure in October and advise. Please call or text Collin at (806) 777-4056 for more information. Leave a message if no answer and I will contact you ASAP. I have received questions about booking policies and pricing. I hope to clear some of those up…
Each group is afforded one week of protection (no hunting) prior to their booked date(s). For example, if a group has booked/paid to hunt August 10-11th, then no one is allowed to book August 3-9th. That gives the place [at least] one week of rest prior to each group’s arrival. On the other hand, if you chose to follow another group that has already booked and forego your protection, then that is your decision. In the above scenario, if you wanted to book for August 17-18, I will advise you of the group that has already booked for August 10-11 and let you make your decision from there. Basically, every group is guaranteed at least one week of protection unless you choose to book behind another group.
Pricing examples: 3 Hunters – 2 Days Day 1 – 3 x $150 = $450 Day 2 – 3 x $100 = $300 Total Cost - $750
2 Hunters – 1 Day Day 1 – 2 x $150 = $300 Does not meet the $500 per group minimum, so the Total Cost is $500.
1 Hunter – 3 Days Day 1 – 1 x $150 = $150 Day 2 – 1 x $100 = $100 Day 3 – 1 x $100 = $100 Does not meet the $500 per group minimum, so the Total Cost is $500.
The minimum is in place due to penning and feeding the livestock. They eat a round bale per two days. If you have priced hay lately, you know that it just doesn’t make financial sense to pen and feed them in order to have an income of less than $500.
Hope this clears some confusion.

Only thing left this year is Labor Day weekend. I have a couple of dates already booked for next year with returning customers. References available.
