Been wanting to make kolachies for a while, I know not the right name but the ones with sausage. Still haven’t gotten there, need to find an appropriate bread dough recipe so for now crescent rolls suffice. Made some chicken sausage w/cheese in sheep casings from some of my boys 4h birds. Came out really good.

I make them all the time with both the small Little Smokies, or any larger sausage. The very best dough I have found is the RHOADES DINNER ROLLS, in the freezer section at the store. 36 in a bag, cut in half for smokies or use whole for large ones. Great taste, brown up nicely, and cook all the way thru quickly.

Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

AKA "Pigs in a Blanket." Popular item on Boy Scout campouts, but must be contaminated with fire ashes and a pine needle or two for the authentic taste experience. cool

Well tried again this morning. Crescent rolls are much easier, open wrap toss in oven.

This recipe called for dough to sit in fridge over night and then rise for 1 hour before bake so the old alarm hit me at 4 am this morning. Came out pretty good but wanting to tweak it a little or try a different bread recipe. Dough was so sticky I couldn’t get cheese in them and they didn’t brown well. Also bottom rack toasted the bottoms a little more than I would like. [Linked Image]

I've never successfully baked multiple items on multiple shelves at one time.

Yeah it’s tuff. Wish I would have picked a different cookie sheet, then they both would have fit on top rack. I wasn’t going to cook twice. I was really surprised that the bottoms browned pretty heavy considering how pale the tops stayed.
