![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/07/full-46767-425305-20240712_182434.jpg) Surgeon said I have to lose 20lbs before he will schedule me for knee replacement. Even though I was 15lbs heavier for my other knee replacement. So low carb for a while. Man I miss pasta and starches. 10lbs to go.

Looks great to me, I wast sure tortillas and bacon were on any list of diet to loose weight food though. It's easy for a couple weeks, but staying under 50 carbs a day gets rough after a little while.

Finding another surgeon would be easier.

Finding another surgeon would be easier. This guy replaced my left knee 3-1/2 years ago. It was great and a very fast rehab. Doesn't make me happy about having to lose the weight before he will schedule me, but I really need to lose it anyway. 2 more weeks and I should be golden.

Stay with it. Last year I was at the same place knees were killing me and Dr. said the weight has to come off to help the knees. For every extra pound you carry equals 4 lbs on the knees. Eat meats, fruits, vegetables and drink 80 oz. Of water per day and it will come off.

I went to intermittent fasting and lost 40lbs in three months and have managed to keep it off for two years. Good luck.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Once you lose all that weight by low carb, you’ll never be able to touch carbs again. One carb equals one pound, after that. Do it the old fashioned way.

Bacon and eggs are great for low carbs. We use a low carb tortilla and bread as well. Lots of no or low carb foods are great, but you have got to be disciplined.

I went to intermittent fasting and lost 40lbs in three months and have managed to keep it off for two years. Good luck. When I was in my early 30's I did the Adkins diet(extreme low carb). I lost over 40lbs myself in just a couple months. But then started introducing more and more carbs back. Here I am 25 years later doing it again. It definitely doesn't come off as fast as it did back then. Less active, and metabolism is in the gutter. Hoping by end of the month I'll be good to go.

Yep, at that age we have the metabolism of a sloth. When I was in my mid 20’s I just had to quit eating dessert for a couple weeks and could shed some pounds easily.

Looks great to me, I wast sure tortillas and bacon were on any list of diet to loose weight food though. All but the tortilla is 0 carb, unless the bacon is cured with any sugar. All the tortillas and bread I eat is low carb.

Smart Doctor!!
Just my .02 on KETO. The objective is to get your body into Ketosis, then you start burning fat fast. Carbs will take you out.
Good luck with your knee.
