We got so much rain in Wheeler County this month that my feeder sank one leg into the ground. My 13yr old repositioned the feeder and pushed each foot 6" into the ground with just his 100lb body weight. Unreal... that soil was like concrete when I tried to hammer those t-posts in last year. The farm is covered up with big red ants, horny toads and quail right now. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/07/full-70421-425283-microsoftteams_image_5.png)

Toads should reduce the ants.

Yes sir. Same for us in Briscoe County.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Sure wish some of those horned toads would find their way back to Lampasas county. Plenty of harvester ants here for them. It's been a coons age since I last saw one.

Good to hear. Need a good summer of rain up there.

Glad to hear about the horny toads. They were once thick in Montague County. Haven’t seen one in many years.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP

Same for us in Hall County. Grass is out of control but the boys are looking good and the Class of 2024 fawns seem to be healthy as well. ![[Linked Image]](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53885465667_e57d6dd450_c.jpg)
