I know, discussing music, like religion, just causes consternation, but I recently watched Tactacam's email rollout of their Version 3.0 camera. 'Sorry, but I'd rather listen to no music and a geek explaining the improvements, than a stock bought trac that inspires visions of Julius Caesar crossing the Rubicon. This is hunting, usually not predators even, not mortal combat. I get you can't commission a piece to be written for your product, but come on. I gotta neighbor that likes to think he's an "outfitter" and makes videos (very sporadically). By his choice of music for the videos, I'm fairly certain he thinks he's a gladiator.

How can you claim your pro staff if you don’t have “Ride of the Valkyrie’s” playing in the background
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I agree; I would rather hear the sounds from nature than cheesy music….

I received the same Tactacam emails and videos as well. Didn't finish them because of the audio. The videos were beneficial to Tactacam because they got me to their website to get more information and enough info to see that I don't need any of their stuff right now, LOL. Of course, that would have been accomplished without the nasty music.
For me seeing/hearing such videos is just a non-verbal message that the content is so poor that the maker felt the need to make it seem better by distracting the viewer with aggressive music. It is like giving all your guests Everclear to drink because you burned the hell out of the steaks you were cooking for them. The beverage should enhance the dining experience, like a light-bodied Pinot Noir, Pinotage or Cinsault that will add mid palate acidity to cut through the richness of the meat whilst complimenting the grilled flavor of swordfish.
As with the wine and swordfish, acoustic accompaniment is supposed to enhance the experience, whether it be verbal descriptions, music, or even faked sounds of nature not part of the actual video. However, the choice of the acoustic accompaniment can also negatively impact the viewing experience.
As for the motivation of wanting to feel like a gladiator or warrior via the music, I don't care about the motivation. They could be playing parlor music to feel like a dandy. That is on them, LOL. All I care about is that the acoustic accompaniment does actually enhance the viewing experience and in my experience, a lot of the macho, headbanger music is about as far from hunting as you can get without getting into the sounds of jobsite construction noise for a hunting-related video.

I don't know anything about the Tactacam video referred to in the OP, but one thing that drives me nuts is hunting show on TV with all the music in the background. I want to hear what the host/narrator is saying. It's especially irritating when the hunters are whispering and it's totally covered up by music.

My wife and I are now at a certain age that there's TV shows we can't watch 'cause the music soundtrack is way too loud over the dialogue. And...now I'm awaiting my invitation to Double Naught Spy's place for Swordfish! Hell, I don't even know what a Cinsault is.

Actually, it is my wife that is the swordfish aficionado. However, I agree with you and papa45, the music should not cover the information being conveyed. It is like they don't want you understand and appreciate the experience, LOL.

Speaking of gladiators... I do not like rap/hip-hop with my gladiator movies. 'Like the rhino though.
