Just curious, what kind of summer projects do y'all work on getting ready for teal/duck season? Last season our lake was low and we had a below average hunting season. Obviously fixing/moving the blind at some point, but are there any other projects y'all work on? I think one of our problems last year was the pond was a mudhole and had zero vegetation/food for the ducks to eat. We'd watch hundreds fly over but they wanted nothing to do with the lake and were on a mission going somewhere else. Too rocky to plant anything so I'm trying to think of what else to do to boost vegetation in the lake.

Try surface vegetation like duck weed and have water.

Sinkey that's a good point but for some reason the teal wanted nothing to do with us this past year. Ricky, where can you get duck weed?

I've tried planting summer stuff like corn, milo, millet, etc... but it always ends up the same. Starts out good, gets up about chest high, but by August it dries out and dies. I've started planting cool season stuff like wheat and oats now and it stays green all through the winter and into the spring. No boards to control water level, but I have a water well. I may try to irrigate it with an above ground 1.5" line.
