I'm rebuilding my buccees feeder for a few reasons.
1. Are all motors the same?
2. Is there a " better" solar panel?
3. Timer other than the Timer?
Maybe Texas Hunter, HCR, Sweeney?

Sweeney is insane with the prices they're asking. The place looks like it's out of business, but I think there's still some inventory and two or three people left seeing how many suckers are still left out there.

1. Don’t know. What you can get from West Texas Feeder Supply is great. 2. Same as above. 3. No
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Had a motor freeze up, bearings need lube. Pull the motor, squirt some oil on the shaft and let it sit for a while. Rotate shaft by hand until it turns freely. Re-install.

My motor is frozen and my solar panel has been worked over by animals. While it's empty I'm just going to upgrade it and add protection to the exposed motor

Do not think there is a better timer. Good timer for sure but the one I had didn't last a year and not covered under warranty. Of course the feeder getting hit by lightning might have had something to do with that.

The motors have a 'dirt shield' on the shaft. Pry it up and use kroil or similar on the shaft. Let it drain into the motor and then turn the shaft till it's free. I actually took it apart, not hard but tricky to get back together, brushes are on the sealed end. The bearings are a ball in the steel end plate socket. Only the bearing on the output shaft gets stuck.

i prefer ASF all seasons 12V motor timer and solar panel. Easy to install and pretty reliable. Timer has worked flawlessly.

Get a complete unit (box, The Timer, elminator, solar) from West Texas Supply. My 2 have been running 365 for about 10 years now and only 1 or 2 battery changes during that time

I used to run Texas Hunter controllers and got lots of life out of them...about 15 years and then they started model changes that didn't plug and play when I needed repairs so switched over to West Texas Feeder Supply products.. I hope you get same years of life out of them
