SWFA is no longer a retailer. On my way to College Station last fall for a game, I did not see any signs on the building where they moved to a few years back. I googled them online. They've moved from a retailer of many product lines to a manufacture of their own Super Sniper product line. I bought a ton of stuff from them over they years. Great customer service! Sorry to see this happen. Here's a link about what happened. https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/swfa-response-to-closing-question.323624/
Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

I wish them great success.
Their line of scopes are a great bang for the buck. I've still got a 5-20HD. It has been put through thr ringer, and never let me down. It looks like a used pair of welding gloves. Not pretty, just built to do the job.
I've also got two 1-6X that have also done a great job. None of those scopes have ever been sent in for repair, even though I treat them like a wrench.

They're basically OOB from where I sit.

Drove by there a couple of weeks ago in the middle of a week day. No sign of activity. Did they move to a different location?

I have both the 3-15 and 5-20 ffp scopes. Learned how to long distance shoot on both of these and love them both.
Their website has certainly changed. They for sure sold a wide variety of scopes and other items. Now clearly looks like they only deal with their brand of scopes and accessories. I hope they stick around for a while. I doubt I will ever need the warranty, especially after beating up the 3-15 version.

They got into some trouble with the ATF a few years back. Missing or unaccounted for guns.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

As far as I know they are still made in Japan. The HD line is made by Light Optical Works and the standard SS line is made by Kenko. They are reliable and quality optics. They are a little dated in design and features but they still work fine. I still think the 3-9x42 HD is one of the best hunting scopes for the money. Everyone I own was made in Japan except the 1-4 which I think is Philippines. This is an interesting link that shows where all the different brands are manufactured. https://sageratsafaris.com/category/optics-oem/

Good riddance to them! I used to be a die-hard customer of theirs. I can't even count how many scopes, binos, and accessories I bought from them over the years, but their customer service took a U-turn and they subsequently went downhill really fast.

I don’t know if one thing was related to the other but their customer service went from top notch, to a bunch of douche bags who didn’t have time to talk to you.

Had a buddy who used to work there. He said they were bought buy a new owner maybe 3-4 years ago and it's been downhill ever since. He finally left. The last time I was there (about two years ago), I walked in the store with the intention of dropping about 3 or 4 grand on some optics. I witnessed the employees being incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unnecessarily dismissive to a man who happened to be a minority, and I was just dumbfounded. Of course, I also happened to notice the giant Q-anon sticker on the front door, which alerted me that something had changed with these folks. I turned around and walked out the door and told my better half that I'd never spend another dime with them. Shortly thereafter, the ATF thing happened and they cratered into the craphole they put themselves in...which is exactly what they deserve. It's sad, because it used to be a great place, and I was probably one of their most loyal customers for many years.

I knew something bad was coming when Skylar resigned.
He was fantastic to deal with. Too good for the new owner. I mean that literally, not a jab at him at all.
