Results are up.
Anyone venturing up for a hunt?
No LQ elk or antelope for us but drew a WT tag. We'll hunt general elk and mule deer on the ranch, maybe archery elk on the NF in Sept. Luckily we can buy all the cow elk tags we want for the ranch. Probably start on cow tags in early Sept, maybe late Aug if weather is ok- not too hot.

I got an Antelope buck tag. No Mule deer this year. I messed up and drew 2 whitetail doe tags for whitetail area 29-8. I was trying for antelope doe tags for antelope area 29-7. I'm not sure what happened. Anyway I might look into whitetail hunting this year too.đ

Hope to cash in my chips next year for antelope and mule deer
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Might be heading up there next year for antelope with 12 points. Was going to use them last year, but Mother Nature Fâd that up. G is on the radar for deer with the same amount of points, but will sit back and wait for that herd to hopefully recover

angus the desert area is not known for huge bulls but some dang nice ones will get taken. Good luck to them, that is a fun tag to hunt.
Ridn9high 12 PPs will get you a really good antelope area. We're seeing some numbers bounce back a bit this year. G likely will not be the same for several years but still so big bucks over there. It is impressive country to hunt.

There are big bulls in the red desert, I've seen them when 4 weeling there during the summer. Only problem is they ball up and look at you from 800-1000 yards. My buddy has a long range setup in .338 lapula which will even the distance parking a good bull.

He won't necessarily need to take a along shot but that Lapua will come in handy.
There are nice bulls in the red desert but it is not known for huge bulls, he will find something in the 300-320" range if he is patient. Jack Morrow Hills part of the area has some big bulls out in the tall sage , neat to see while antelope hunting. Would love to see him get a big 6 pt out of there, maybe 7 pt !!
