This is Cassie, she turned 17 years old a few months back. She was our daughter’s service dog till she was 15 and moved in with us to retire. A gift from the man above.

Father Fathers kids Dad and son the night before I had to bury my best friend. RIP, Lefty. Son has the watch now. Kai is a fierce protector of my sons.
I love dogs but did not want one, daughter finally wore me out. 8 1/2 years ago we got this 6 month old, 40lb flee infested rescue mutt named Luke. Poor mutt had been in 6 different homes & shelters before we took him home.
Luke also had a few loose marbles between the ears when we got him, anger issues, digging bedding areas out around the yard, rock eating crazy man. Daughter took off for college in California, then stayed there for work before moving back to big D. Now Luke is my sidekick, follows me around everywhere most of the time.
At Pets Smart where we first met him and the rescue person out of Farmersville, heck even I liked him right off the get go.
Yep the PIA to get this mutt.
This pic is from 2 weeks ago, Luke is 9 years old now.

Never thought I'd be a sap for a small dog, but this little toot, Mr. Theo, was about 12 pounds of pure hijinx, as you can tell after he TP'ed our house. And he would do 360-degree circles in the air when it was chow time.

Good on you for the rescue . I have had a couple . Yes they start off goofy , but you have to look at what they have been through . Mine always made great , loyal , thankful dogs . One of mine was kind of a mutt . I found him as a puppy living under a dumpster near my shop in the winter . He tried to escape the house for about a month , but then seemed to figure out the house was better than the dumpster as was the food .
