Stayed on Spring Creek Road, right on Spring Creek. Fished from the house all the way to Spring Creek Reservoir, Over to Pothole #1, up and over to Texas Lake (where we saw 5 moose over a one hour period), The Upper Taylor, Willow Creek and Mirror Lake over the one week we stayed. I had one 42 mile ride by myself while wife and daughter did something else one afternoon. Girls wanted to do a raft trip. Our guy was good, but not good enough to go around the rock that we hit hard and launched my a-- right out. Dude had spent a lot of time in the gym, his technique for getting me back in the boat was flawless. Totally submerged, nothing prepares you for hitting that freezing water when you're kinda sweaty on the first warm day of the year for the area. Great trip, prolly best over the last 45 years I been going. Saw a ton of wildlife. Cooked great dinners. The house was way more space than we needed with the two full bedroms/2 baths, plus a full one bedroom cabin but I wanted the location.

Sounds and looks great! Where are the fish pics, and what did you use to catch them? Who did you use to book your trip, and what did the rental unit cost you? I'm really interested in making a trip like this, and your report makes me want to get off my dead butt and book something!

if you get up around kremmling, green mt. res. check out williams creek reservoir. kokanee, pike and lake trout. I used to fish it out of a canoe and do well.

you can stay in silverthorne, dillon, or breckenridge and fish the blue from dillon to kremmling, upper colorado east of kremmling, plenty of beaver ponds just west of the divide, day in steamboat on stagecoach for huge pike or the yampa for huge pike/trout.

plenty of wildlife too.

should be some rentals on the blue river.

We only used a guide on day one. My daughter has recently got into fly fishing. She lives up there and went many times last year and has got pretty good. She wanted the guide on day one as a refresher. I been fishing the area forever, don't really need a guide or to book anything. If you want a guide, Willow Fly, out of Three Rivers Resort. House was an Air B n B. I think about $2800.00 for a week. Sleeps 8 if you don't mind being crowded. Like I mentioned, I just wanted the location. There were only the three of us, didn't use the one bedroom cabin at all.

flying out in the morning to Durango and then drive over to Telluride - will have a full week of fun

We are headed to Southfork area in a few weeks. We too will be riding, rafting, and fishing. I’ve yet to be tossed form a raft, my wife can say the same, we were hoping to sneak away and hit some class 4-5 rapids but then the extended family expressed their desire to go… so we will be limited to 3’s and under

When my boy gets older and can pass the swim tests, we may spend a few days rafting and camping, chasing the big rapids.

The location looks phenomenal

Telluride next summer, daughter getting married at a venue just outside of town, Schmidt Ranch. Well take a week before and a few days after the wedding. Tell me how it is for trail riding and fishing.

I saw it and wasn't worried, he had got us around everything else. I honestly don't think he saw it. I wasn't worried until I was air born.
