I bought a Rossi Turkey Tuffy 410 shotgun a year ago and hunted turkeys with it this past spring. At 3.1lbs it was a pleasure carrying this past season. I dropped two turkeys with it. Everyone keeps telling me to put a red dot on it. I'm not sure I see the need, nor do I have any experience with a red dot. They can run less than a $50 for the Chinese stuff on up past $500.00. I saw the SIG Sauer ROMEO5 1X20mm Tactical Hunting 2 MOA red dot for $115.00. In the big picture it's not a lot of money compared to others.

Anyone have any experience with red dots on a shotgun. Would this particular one be worth the investment.

As always thanks

I have found them great for varmint hunting at night, but during the day, I found them about as useful as a clear trolling motor prop.

I don’t have any experience with that particular Sig optic, but I’ve heard good things about it. I have a Bushnell TRS-25 that has been swapped around to several of my pistols, from .22 LR to a hot loaded .44 mag. It hasn’t missed a beat yet. I can’t imagine the recoil on a shotgun would be as bad as the .44 was. I did try a cheap optic on the .44 once. Lasted 4 shots before it literally came apart.

Yep, the recoil on the .410 is next to nothing. Still on the fence about adding one. Who knows maybe in the future. Thanks for your input.

I have the A model of this one, got rid of the tube red dots as I found it too hard to acquire the target fast (old eyeballs).

I put a holosun on an old 870. The 32moa donut with the 2 MOA center dot worked out perfect for want I was trying to do with it.
