The camera lens obviously has moisture on the inside. The motion detector still tells the camera to take a picture, but the pictures are completely blurred. Any of you guys ever open up a Tactacam to wipe the lens? I wonder if it’s fixable, or should I just get a new one? If there’s a warranty, I’m sure it’s long expired. Dang!

I had an sk go out on me and stopped sending pictures for what seems like no reason at all and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Call Tactacam customer service, they were very good and helped me with my issues. I think Brittany was the gal's name I talked to.

Let me know how that goes. I should do the same before I just toss it.

Leave it in the sun and see if it'll "cook" out. That's worked on a couple of mine where I couldn't get to the lens. Tactacam's customer service is very good, but you might have to leave a message 'cause I don't think there's that many employees. When they get with you, they will NOT rush you off the phone. In fact, you might have to find a way to end the conversation.

There's a Tactacam Facebook page that I follow and they seem really good about customer service and helping people through problems. I'm running 8 of the things and knock on wood haven't had an issue yet. One didn't update for a while but turning it off for a bit and back on fixed it.

I was gonna go get the camera and see about drying it. But, I got a message that the camera had taken a picture. Maybe drying it out will work, though I haven’t even tried yet. It’s laying face up in the back of the Kubota. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/06/full-37680-422895-img_1084.jpeg)

I think the Tactacam is gonna be Ok. It’s in the house drying out, though it wasn’t what you’d call wet. Once I’m sure it’s dried out (3 or 4 more days), I’ll put silicone on all seals and screw down the antennas nice and tight.

Good news. I bought a Tactacam Reveal X Gen. 2.0 off Amazon recently, since they're on sale for 99.00 and I'm in the process of building another pig corral trap by my little tank. It's my 4th Tactacam and, after some education on my part, buying some solar panels and extended range antennas, they're all working again. Pic quality on the 2.0 so far is excellent.

The Tactacam is dry, I think, and is taking pictures just like it should. With a new fawn in the yard, the wife was in a hurry to get me to put the camera out. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/06/full-37680-423435-sam_3431.jpeg)

I bought a couple of these to put on my cameras and they seem to be well made ( I think 3d printed) and fit perfectly. I also glued some bird proofing spikes on top of the covers to hopefully deter the damn woodpeckers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/314796017981?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110013%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIMRXI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D266917%2C266981%2C267607%26meid%3Dfe320d2663cd480dbc93e19dd0a12121%26pid%3D101196%26rk%3D9%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D134968580943%26itm%3D314796017981%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimRXIVINativeV1WithMMV3%26brand%3DTactacam&_trksid=p2332490.c101196.m2219&itmprp=cksum%3A314796017981fe320d2663cd480dbc93e19dd0a12121%7Cenc%3AAQAJAAAA8PgtYNYr074Rbd625X3At8xu0aHCNh0UUWCuObT9y6ZSbwz9zBdOYYIdXHrKvKP4f6vo%252Fc6suZM6wNgdOFrijXUtrxvsIUDMIreEcwfBYZef8rPNrsYFD3xRhcUw3Q0doTbWW%252Banr5NpAYJAWVlYFkH4tGvutJJvWl2eZaPrRS2rJLtpfFf3TXwKMESlkAnj6VsxXyIrlFFNDV1tiygJPncEa8%252Fx4xp5Elt9hcIOJwoJArizvlN4dPiY75czYE732tkwaiMSPIRBDvy%252BlaeYxNN5Q88zOGZwSQW7mnE7yxGdiI12vklkTT56iwNDEpa6HA%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2332490&itmmeta=01J0Y690935PSRQFA2Y392743B

Well, I'm guessing the mile long link I posted probably won't work but the camera covers can be found by searching ebay for Tactacam Reveal Lid.

Update. The Tactacam works as designed now that I’ve dried it out, but the pictures are not sharp. I’ve ordered a new one. This is my wife’s camera for the yard critters, and blurry pics aren’t acceptable.
I guess that moisture dried on the inside of the lens.

FYI Fleabay and Etsy and some other places offer 'hats' for your game cameras now. They are 3D printed, mainly. I just bought a few off Ebay for my Bushnells for $11 each. if you have a 3d printer you might be able to find a pattern and print them yourself. I was pretty impressed with how well the one I bought fit. Hoping it helps with rain, sunglare, and possibly fogging. This is a stock photo showing a possible Tactacam option: ![[Linked Image]](https://i.etsystatic.com/33865667/r/il/50d52a/5233489963/il_570xN.5233489963_i6vw.jpg)
