Who on here knew they were involved with truck bodies, jon boats (the only boat my dad ever owned), etc. way back when? The man on the right is my grandfather, a true salesman, in the best sense of the word. Late '40's, maybe early '50's I believe. 'Photograph is by Zintgraff, a famous San Antonio photographer. Stock show and rodeo grounds (Freeman coliseum) during the rodeo. 'Used to be the biggest event of the year in San Antonio.

Great photo with your grandfather...!!! Indeed! Good old Reynolds. Reynolds Aluminum had a plant here (Ingleside, Tx) for a long time, plant was built in 1950. I worked there several times doing Electrical Construction work in the late 90's. Between the Bauxite, Alumina, and Caustic it was a horrible place to work but it paid the bills for a while. Yes Sir they manufactured aluminum for all sorts of things before they went kaput. Really cool photo.

My Grandfather was one of the original founders of the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. I think the first stock show was in 1948 and the first rodeo was in 1949. So you are correct that this photo could have been taken in that period of time. Adios, Gary

Used to be an aluminum plant in Sherman before one of the half dozen market crashes there. I had a great uncle that assembled Grummon mail trucks out of aluminum in Sherman a LONG time ago.
Pass the gravy.
