If they are hanging around and location close to where your profile says I would be looking for one of those to go to freezer camp real soon. Good eating and could be like some we had just passing through.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

I think I would have crapped myself if I was in the blind hog hunting when that thing was at the window! LOL!

Pleasant surprise Tell me about that riser on your ranch king? home built? It is my homemade way to load and unload it on my 16' trailer. I use jacks and get it in the air and drive out from under it. I made a post in the Blinds and Feeders Forum about it. Portable 6x8 Blind

Good eating and could be like some we had just passing through. I would sure let her have that calf first and look for her later in Fall when the calf is more prone to survive on it's own.

Would those be shoot on sight capable or be treated like escaped livestock? I asked that question of a game warden a few years back and it wasn't as clear as I thought, depending on the situation.
Or I wonder if they could be wild, native elk cows that somehow made it that far?

^^^ that is my understanding. They have to have an ear tag or brand you can see to know they are escaped livestock.
Hard to judge size but looks like a cow with her calf from last year. Let her have this years calf and maybe they will be your neighbors for a while, until shot. Elk love minerals, trace salt blocks, 30-06 etc. Keep her fed and she'll stay around.

cool to see those critters. Question for ya. Do you have issues with poaching? A trail cam aimed at your blind in interesting.
Hunt WITH your kids... NOT for them
