Sometimes, only occasionally, I've seen hogs escape from a trap only to be caught again because, having made their way out, they don't fear the trap any more.

In all the years, I’ve only had one hog jump or climb the trap fence, or maybe I should say I know of one. Might have been more. The fence was about 5’ high. From him sort of squishing the fence when he landed on top of it, he was a big one.
