I hated to do it but my wife and I decided to sell our 34 acre property in the Davy Crockett National Forest. Listed it two weeks ago through Whitetail Properties and people from Dallas and Houston have come and looked. It hunts a lot bigger than it looks and has two nice bass ponds, two creeks and an ancient Indian encampment where I found many artifacts. It was 247 miles from our home in Inez, Victoria County and with my wife still working as a busy RN and my boys tied up with their jobs and families much of the time, I was the only one really getting a lot of enjoyment out of it.

We found a larger property in Lavaca County with a shop and a nice two year old mobile home on it so we plan to also sell our home on 3.6 acres in Inez and move and build a house out there. My wife can still commute to her job. I'm not a slave driver, but she is 13 years younger and loves her very responsible job, LOL!

A potential buyer from the Dallas area has just come forward and put down earnest money at full price on the parcel in Houston County so now it's a matter of finishing the paperwork and such. I'm going to miss the different world of East Texas and East Texas hunting as I have had some great adventures there and met some good people.
