Other than alfalfa hay, are there any other commercial attractants that work for mule deer or are they the same as are used for whitetail?

They eat the hell out of protein feed. Its been my experience once you get them hooked on a feeder, they tend to spend most of their time around them.

Adios,

I killed a 27” mule deer one year using E.L.K deer stopper, and missed a 180 with my bow

Basically a rut call though because you call calling in the does.

Can't tell you how many times I've done the same with that exact call. Killed a big 190" buck that was simply following does that came straight to the call. We also have great luck with your basic sweet feed you can get from Tractor Supply. They love the stuff.

Trace mineral blocks get heavily used by mule deer most of the year, now and later into Fall and Winter especially.

I know it is, that's why we need to stop talking about it.

Corn, protein, cottonseed, alfalfa hay all work well, we have used them for years, we have had the best luck calling in does w the bucks trailing during the rut w a Primos lead cow/calf elk call, but blown different than meant for, we blow it more like a distress call, the main key we have seen after 25 years of calling in hundreds is that they cannot know you are there or it will send them running into the next county
