The Shed, get there before it opens and get your name on the list. Not sure if they take reservations or not

we always enjoyed strolling around downtown with all the vendors marketing their wares. Been a few years, so don't recall any places to eat

Tons of great SW restaurants. Maria's, Dolina, Palacio Cafe, Rancho De Chimayo, The Shed, & Sazon come to mind. But, Pasqual's is our favorite.

If you like art, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is quite nice. It doesn't take all that long.

There is a great network of hiking trails just a few minutes outside of town. It's called Dale Ball and it's located right at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos.

I highly recommend Bandelier National Monument. It's a great preservation of Pueblo archeological sites, with cliff dwellings, cool structures, and petroglyphs. Requires some ladder climbing.

Tons of galleries, bars, ornate cathedral and churches all near the Plaza.

If you like fly fishing, there are multiple opportunities within 1 hour.

The last time I was there in Summer 2022, we made the mistake of staying at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder. Absolute sh!thole for the price we paid. Most restaurants were closed and way understaffed, our bathroom had piss on the walls that reeked, maid service came one time over 3 nights, most table games at the casino were closed because they couldn't hire dealers, and the pool was filled with rowdy locals not staying at the resort and they commandeered all the lounge chairs. We usually stay at Eldorado and have never had a bad experience there. Also have stayed at La Posada and Loretto- no complaints there either.

It's a lovely town. Used to love the Ore House on the plaza but it closed. Blue Corn was good. There was a small restaurant a couple of blocks west of the plaza that was known for its New Mexico meatloaf with chiles and piñon nuts. I wish I could recall the name as it was unusual and very good. Another vote for Bandelier. It is a few miles south of Los Alamos and I always meant to stop at the Bradbury Science Museum. They probably have gotten more traffic since "Oppenheimer" hit the theaters.

Dang, Gringo I was just gonna say there's not much to do...... we did the art district, plaza, oldest house, and church with the spiral staircase..

We didn't like the Mexican food there, our enchiladas were not rolled they were just stacked on top of one another with cheese in between. I guess we are just used to Tex Mex........

We really enjoyed these places:

Valles Caldera National Preserve
https://www.nps.gov/vall/index.htm

Bandelier National Monument
and your going to need to book your reservation online in advance:

This was a bit unusual:

I have heard good things about Ojo Caliente spa, and their “healing waters”. I’m not that crazy about going there, but I know my wife would like it. They have 2 locations, a Santa Fe location and another one close to Taos. I’ll probably take my wife next ski season.

We stayed 4 days the latest time. Saw the cliff dwellings, a Cathedral and took a balloon ride.
