Went after some turkeys with the 17wsm and sniped 2 and had just enough time to go get after the hogs with the 458. Managed one and 2 more came running towards me and just stood there looking at me and my gun did not go off...twice. Well I put a 3 round plastic mag in the gun that I had acquired somewhere and noticed they didn't lock into place well. I knew better but figured they would be fine, so ended up with the one just before dark on a stalk through the creek bottom. And found a shed antler!

Looks like a good hunt despite the malfunctions.

It's a Savage Bmag. The stocks are flexible and bad so I filled it with epoxy and that seems to work good. The action is stiff and I hate the magazine, but the little thing is lightweight and very accurate so it is fun just to play with once in a while.

That is what I figured . My was [ and still is to some extent ] full of problems . Stock flex [ had to stiffen stock ] , mag falls out or goes loose , bolt will close down when about 1/2 inch from being in battery . Barrel whip and flex , plus too much velocity for the twist rate [ I cut mine down into a carbine ] . Now even more light and handy . I got mine as a light turkey rifle I could carry along with a hog rifle .
