I’ve got an inside project and I hate dealing with yellow pine due to the hardness.

Home Depot and Lowe’s? Or is it yellow pine? I make a lot of wooden stools and need 2x12 pine. The 12” is now down to 11 1/4”.
I’m guessing, but do think that Dakota Hardwoods would have it or can get it.

Almost exclusively yellow at Home Depot and Lowe’s for 2x12, they have the other sizes in white

fir, home depot/lowes/lumber yard get kiln dried #2 fir, pick and choose and DO NOT let them pick and deliver. I have used it a lot in things I have built for people. there is also clear grade, pricey but no knotholes. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/05/full-24515-419512-20181216_125639.jpg) built a couple dozen of these when the bge fad hit good, all fir, 4x4 is clear/no knots, just before formica/tile was put on.

p.s. you probably have to order clear in more than a 3/4" board, I got 10 4x4s in about 5 days but that was a few yrs. ago.

I’m guessing, but do think that Dakota Hardwoods would have it or can get it. again, #2 kiln dried fir, hand pick the good stuff. soft wood, easy to work/screw up, stains out really well if sanded out. they should be able to order it if homey despot doesn't have it, lowes shows to still stock it. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchTerm=2x12%20douglas%20fir
