as much corn as I go thru (10-12k lbs), I just stick with regular old corn ... I would think Kool Aid could get gummy if there was much humidity and clog up the funnel/spinner

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

I hunt down in South Texas (Campbellton area.) We feed Lyssy/Eckel corn or the Mumms apple scented corn from HEB. The deer seem to like these better than any flavored corn that I've tried. I assume that once the deer get used to it then they will eat it just the same. Too many gimmicks to get hunters to buy this "special flavored" corn. Stick with the plain ole corn!!!

plain old corn works just fine.
If wanting some sort of attractant, corn and roasted soy is a good way to get deer to stick in an area.
Things like kool aid or other commercial deer attractants can be hit or miss. At least in my experience.

As stated above, just plain corn works as well as anything. I did a test. Poured 50lbs of plain corn on the ground in a pile. Then 10 feet away I poured 50lbs of Apple scented corn in a pile. The deer mostly ate the plain corn first then the apple flavored. My thought was that they were use to the plain corn and so that's what they ate first. Just my 2 cents worth.

I prefer Persimmon flavored. But, it’s not always available & not always fresh.

I have always ran regular corn in my feeders. I do have really good success with using scented/flavored corn for what I call "hand corn". This is the corn I put out before a hunt if I want to redirect a deer or get a traveling deer to stop in a certain spot.

I have 40 acres heavy pressure. Never saw a deer at a feeder in the 6 years I had 2 feeders on a pipeline.

I use orange corn when feeding with tailgate feeder deer on my lease prefer orange over regular. I’m my feeders I usually use regular corn since I have run 10 feeders and orange corn is $2.00 per sack more expensive.

I don't usually buy flavored corn on purpose. I will buy the flavored corn if it is my only option or the cheapest option when I am buying, but my thought on it is that the corn sweetened with persimmon, apple, or peanut likely attracts more raccoons and hogs better than it attracts more deer. I have two feeders at each of my stands. Maybe I should do an experiment to see if it even matters.

Patty Payne Hegar @ Waller Rice Dryer sez'
If you want deer use Apple Scented Corn.
If you want your deer, and your neighbors deer, use Persimmon scented corn.

I feed Indian Corn, the deer really seem to like it and stay at the feeder longer.

I think persimmons taste better than corn so I’ll always use permission flavored corn. Not sure if it works better

Experimented with apple corn hand tossed this last year, was trying to pull deer to a feeder I setup in bow range of the blind. Routinely had young bucks at it, but no does or mature bucks. No telling if they liked it more than regular corn or were just intrigued by the scent.

I'm sure flavored corn is a treat and attractive to deer. As is just plain corn since they've been eating it from the beginning of time. Maybe deer like flavored corn over regular corn where there is a feeder every 100 acres but I've killed 150 to 180 inch deer in KS on our place for the past 20 plus years on plain corn. Just local grown corn from the coop, no flavor. Maybe had I added Kool-aid to the corn, my deer would have been bigger or bigger deer would have come to drink the Kool-aid. I own a fishing lodge on Lake Fork. Fishermen are weirder than hunters. Back in the day the Red Rattle Trap was king. Maybe if we die our corn red and put it out with our hand instead of a pile, free choice or spincast, we'll kill bigger deer.

I bought some gopher bait the other day. The label said "fish flavored". Still trying to figure out how a gopher has acquired an appetite for fish. Anyhoot, I do think the flavored corns' scent carries farther and may be a better attractant from distance.

I retired from a corn chip company that came out with blue chips using blue corn. When the warehouse had old corn to be removed from the warehouse, I would get it all. The deer preferred the blue corn better that the yellow or white.

An empty apple flavored corn bag make a great air freshener for your truck..... I have a 24 year old Super Duty that has hauled a damp Labrador Retriever with occasional bouts of irritable bowl syndrome on many duck and dove hunts (LOL!) and lets just say the new truck smell is not present in it anymore. Smells pretty damn good with an empty sack of Atwoods Apple Flavored corn in the back seat. I miss my old hunting buddy but he could damn sure stink up a truck! Especially after he steals an Allsup's burrito left unattended on the console.

Regular corn due to cost - if cost is no issue don't see why not.
