I saw that Steiner announced a new scope line at Shot Show that is basically a shorter and much lighter version of their T6XI scopes. I see that there are some of the 2-12x42 models that might already be on some shelves and the longer ranged options coming out in a few weeks. Anyone have any experience with Steiner's T6XI scopes (Big brother of the H6XI line)? I am shopping for glass for a new hunting rifle, and I am between trying out a Steiner or going either the NX8 Nightforce or Leupold Mark 5HD route.

I have an NX8 4-32 F1 and would buy another. Fast forward to needing an LPVO my knee jerk was to go to the NX8 1-8. Somehow I sold myself on a T6Xi 1-6. And now I may buy another. If not, it'll very likely be the NX8 1-8. Leupold does not have a 1-whatever [LPVO] with the features I want.

I have a couple of NX8 4-32 F1 and I have really liked them as well. What is your opinion on glass quality, especially at low light, between the NX8 and the T6XI? Do you run a MOA or MIL reticle?

Based on little low light outdoor experience with the NX8 I have no complaints. So far the T6Xi I have only shot at an indoor range with "subdued" lighting. No complaints though. The NX8 is Mil-XT; the T6Xi is only available in mil (a single design, no choice). Again, limited experience, but I feel the T6Xi glass is good. Maybe I should do I side-by-side comparison.

Sorry I'm not much help.
