Born & raises in MN. hunting & fishing. Lived in
30+years.
Got on a deer lease twas cheap 1,100 acres for $200.00 year round.
10ta12 on lease. The 24-7-365 hog hunts was reason & made it a family
outing. We did the camping since kids were in diapers.
Was on several other leases, none of the other leases showed sign of hogs.
Had set up behind house. Hogs started traveling creek. Took a few hogs that way.
Then public land opened up just few miles away. Archery only deer/hog hunts.
& had hog any legal means hunts Jan - end March.
Hog hunts will spoil ya. Tis back home now & miss the hog hunts. The WMA (public land)
hunted just down the road wasclose ta 6,000 acres. Foundry was river waters running E&W .
Basicly walk in walk out. Furthest hog taken was over 3 miles back in, shooting GPS ta truck.
Back pack was easiest. Cut down back for back straps then skin around quarters. No gutting.
They have hog hunts with dogs. Guided hunts. Helicopter hunts, NV & Thermal. Lots of variables.
Any ways, miss the hog hunts on WMA's, Hunted a few with over 25,000 acres. It's a blast do your
own thang, walk-a-bouts. Not sure of prices for out of states.
