Is there something that I can feed out of a typical deer feeder that will attract pigs and deter deer? I have a feed pen setup for deer, and it’s almost 99% pig proof. I plan on running a second feeder a few hundred yards away and was thinking of feeding dog food, probably the small to medium size kibble, or is there something else that would work equally as well?

Cheap dog food will attract hogs but also foxes, raccoons and such but not deer. The best thing is dig pit with a tractor, fill it with corn and sour it diesel and Jello mix. A pig pipe works great too.

Just pen in the pig feeder and cut holes in the bottom of the panels for the pigs. Make it small and top it high enough with barb wire and there will rarely be deer in it. I've had this setup for 6-7 years and may get a doe in it a few times a year. My pen is more to keep the cows out than the deer, but it worked.

I have a couple of pig traps that certainly don’t deter deer. Over the years, I’ve found deer in them. One broke its neck while I was trying to release it.
