im setting a paddle wheel aerator on 1 big 10 acre field with knee deep water, i think the other fields may freeze over. im gonna kill me some pretty late season drakes

All my birds left Tuesday night or Wednesday. Shot a limit Sunday, found some birds and shot a quick limit of gadwall Tuesday, found plenty more birds after Tuesdays hunt, went back Thursday and shot 1 wood duck, went back this morning and shot 1 gadwall.

Probably sleep in the tomorrow. Small.water should be froze up tomorrow and I think I'll hit a main lake spot Monday morning.

Had a good friend hunting along the Platte in Nebraska this past week. She said 1st days lot of birds coming to dekes, it was low clouds and cold. Next day not so many, -4 and had some frozen water with sunny skies.
Limited on greenheads first day and only a teal and couple of mallards 2nd day..
Geese were flying too she said.

We are frozen now, they have to move down some.

Aside from the resident WD, it was dead this morning. Buddy on the coast was called off, no birds.

Shot a two man limit this morning in Fannin County

We struck out this morning. Heard lots of shooting within a couple miles, but we just weren’t on the “X” I guess. Had a single buzz us before shooting time, and that was it for the ducks. Was good to be out there again though.
