I’ll maybe take home one really nice pig a year depending on how the freezer is shaping up. Usually it’s way too full from game animals. Running a little light at the moment and this girl stepped out. Big fat early winter doe. Best eating IMO. I like them closer to 100 lbs. More good meat for the same amount of work.

I like them closer to 100 lbs. More good meat for the same amount of work. Not following how a smaller hog yields more good meat? This sow dressed at just over 100lbs, putting a live estimate in the 150-155 range (Probably higher considering she was heavily pregnant)

Larger hogs can be kinda tough, but even a 200+ Lb boar isn't so tough after going through a meat grinder.

Really healthy animal. Might have to render som lard off this one. She just fit in the cooler! I haven’t found sows get too tough for my liking.
