As the duck hunting season goes on down here in SE Louisiana on occasion the cold fronts come and the NW winds drain the water out of the marsh. When that happens ducks check out. Conditions yesterday a little cold in the morning, no wind, low tides and sunny skies. Not good for a duck hunt but perfect for a nutria hunt, so that is what we did. Came back with 15 nutria but left a lot out in the prairie. Lots of fun shooting them. Never felt the fur of a nutria, at least that I can remember. Is it worth using for anything?

When fur coats etc were in, they used the pelts. Nowadays not much demand for any type of pelts. Has resulted in lots of depredation of ground birds, etc.
