When I was a much younger guy, I would often move stands to new locations throughout the season with good results. Now I simply choose between two or three stands that stay pretty much in the same spots year after year. Still, there’s no denying what the research tells us about how deer respond to our repeatedly being in their neighborhood. How deer pattern your movement

We have 12 stands on 1100 acres and 8 lease members. For the most part there are only 4 or 5 there at one time. Stands near the river are best for turkey and possible axis. Some stands will have more pigs then others and some are better for does. Hunting pressure varies a fair amount between stands. There are always some that have been hunted lightly.

I’ve had a great solution to the deer not patterning me this year and it’s worked flawlessly,,,,,,,,, I haven’t been in a stand all year for them to pattern me

The deer have my Ranger patterned. When they hear/see it driving my ranch they know it’s dinner time.

If the stand is set up properly, you access it correctly and you are as scent free as possible there is nothing for deer to pattern you from.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
