After 15 years of collecting rare Marlins, my tastes have changed and it's time to let some go. Some of these are quite rare and are priced accordingly. I do not have to sell, need to sell but am willing to part with. Will sell as a lot or individually. So here's the list.... 1. 1961 golden 39a has the deluxe stock and much bluing loss but is still functional and rare in its own right . Comes with the marlin marked scope. $1400
The Marlin Model 39-A DL. were made from 1960 through 1963. There were 3,306 of them made. The number by years is as follows: 1960 there were just 4 made 1961, there were 1,812 plus 125 shipped with a 4 power scope attached. 1962, there were 739 with another 88 shipped with attached scope 1963, there were 351 with another 187 made with the scope.
2.. 1960's Westpoint model 45 ( basically a model 60 ) have 2 of these and they are the only 2 I have seen in 15 years. Both rough around the edges , but could be restored. One stock has been broken and glued. One is missing rear sight. Price for the pair.. $400
3. 1964 336rc ROYAL CANADIAN. ONLY 271 of these made it out to the public in 30-30. Look em up , there is a fascinating back story to them. $2800......
If you are not familiar with the ROYAL CANADIAN story, here is a brief intro... Google these... there's an interesting story. In 1961-1963, nine Marlin models were selected to be offered for the Canadian Program. These consisted of the centerfire 336-lever action rifles in three versions, and six different rimfire guns. Just 664 Model 336s were made for the Canadian promotion with the RC/Maple Leaf roll mark. These were in three variants with the bulk (almost 400) being either 336T or 336C guns (marked RC) in .30-30 . There were 270 of the Model 336 RC made in the .35 Remington caliber and 271 of the Model 336 RC made in .30-30 caliber in the two years the Royal Canadian was offered THIS IS ONE OF THE 271. The Canadian government didn't like the concept of a bunch of US made guns being imported into the country with the term "Royal Canadian" and the maple leaf associated with them. ( info above paraphrased from the marlin collectors group ) this one has a serial # putting it in the 63-64 range. Will sell as you see it. these are not often available and in 15 years of collecting this is the only one I've come across.
Have lots of pictures if needed. Will sell as a lot for $4000 Open to offers... but in no need of selling
