Man, these have all the makings of a pretty fabulous holiday hors d'oeuvre.

I would have made a test batch yesterday -- but you can't buy Kahlua in Texas on Sunday. roflmao

Nolanco: Weren't you a Boy Scout? Be prepared!!!

My Home Made Kailua Recipe, kids all ask for it every year at Xmas

Ingredients
* 8 cups water
* 2 cups instant coffee crystals (such as Folgers Classic Roast, or other dark coffee
* 4-6 cups sugar, depending how sweet/syrupy you want the mixture
* 1 (750 ml) bottle 80 proof E&J Brandy
* 1 (750 ml) bottle 80 proof vodka
* 2 teaspoons Mexican vanilla extract

Heat up water to boiling point
Add sugar, and stir to dissolve completely
Add instant coffee and stir to dissolve completely. Remove from heat
Allow to cool to approx. room temp ( this will prevent driving off the alcohol)
Add vanilla extract, brandy, and vodka. Mix well. Taste over ice and milk, to gauge taste
Stir well, and fill glass or plastic bottles with mixture

Will keep for several years, without refrigeration!!!!!

Blank, yes, Eagle as a matter of fact, but this is an interesting recipe. I'm going to print it out, and thanks for sharing it. BUT, you can't buy vodka or E&J brandy on Sunday in Texas either. roflmao

Guys, forget these. The cloying sweetness of the prune totally overwhelmed the ancho chile and even the bacon. One and done.
