I know that fiberglass tanks are prone to lightning strikes in the oilfield. How about fiberglass deer blinds?

Fiberglass and fiberglass tanks are not prone to lightning strikes because they are fiberglass, but the fiberglass tanks are tall and by being tall, may get struck. So they aren't like a metal pole that would conduct electricity. In fact, they are very poor conductors of electricity. However, that isn't the issue nearly as much as the reaction of the fiberglass to the charge attempting to pass through it. They tend to burn because the fiberglass resists the movement of electricity through it and so heats up violently and catches afire.

I suspect if your fiberglass stand is struck, it will burn quite well.

I don’t worry much about the fiberglass part, but it sits on a metal tower.
