Want to get my son (11) and daughter (13) on their first deer. Any day leases avail this late in the year? Preferably a blind that would hold Myself, wife, son, daughter.
Also looking for a year round deal for the family. Maybe dove/ducks + deer?

Nah, not really. Found a few day leases but the cost is a little steep for just a meat hunt. Usually $209-$300 day and a fee if you harvest a deer. I may break him into deer hunting how I was - in a homemade ladder stand in Crockett Forest with 800 other people

Good luck sir. 20 years ago, good leases were readily available, now not so much. Landowners got tired of lazy hunters, can't blame them. Increase in population throughout did not help. If you want access to good lease/ hunting ground, $4000 will be starting point. Hunting in TX is pricey now, probably been that way for a while

Have to disagree with $4,000. being a starting point.. Check local feed stores, chamber of commerce etc. in the area you are interested in. Maybe drive around in the country and visit with some landowners and feed stores. Be ready to commit if you do find something or find an opening on a existing lease. Not easy to find.

I agree with MR5hunter. Everything has gone up including deer leases. If you want to hunt on a nice place be prepared to pay a lot.

I expect it is getting more expensive. Real estate values are going out of sight and so are taxes/expenses. I have both rental and rural property and my phone never stops ringing from telemarketers representing out of state investors. My Grandson just moved out of a one bedroom apartment in Grapevine due to rent increase from $1,900 to $2,200 per month. I’m dreading my tax bills.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Not saying your incorrect. However good hunting is hard to find. IMO 130-140 potential is extrmemly hard to find. Hope all on this post find a good spot or.less
