After a slow couple of days, this old guy sauntered onto the wheat field this afternoon. Glad the little spotter was around for a photo-op.

I was hoping to use the Marlin 336 this year, but I knew it would be a longer shot and I didnt want to risk it.

Briscoe county. 23” spread. Taken with the .308 168gr @225yds.

Congrats to you and your young eagle eye spotter cheers That mulie does not looked like he has missed any meals, any guess on weight?

Congrats.
Fun times, I like looking back when my family hunted deer, they started in the fifties, I started hunting in the late sixties, lots of memories, most of the older hunters are gone now except for an uncle.
Nice buck.

Great looking old bruiser.

Thanks y’all! Can’t wait until my boys can be the ones holding the rifles. For now, they get to participate however they can.

Gosh, I’d hate to guess, but he’s the fattest mule deer I’ve ever killed. Probably have a hernia from dragging him into the pickup bed after field dressing.
