No meat is not chillie....thats just red sauce....with or without beans. rabbit, squirrel, deer, pig, cattle, possums....you name it can make chili.

Dude, you got that absolutely backwards. Beans were added to chili to stretch it during the depression when meat was expensive and beans were dirt cheap. Then during the meat rationing of WW2, it became normalized..... for Yankees and Californians
