Family is asking for Christmas gift ideas. I've always wanted a red dot on my Ruger MKIV. Is there anything affordable ($150 or less) out there that's decent?
My gun is the lite model with a pic rail already mounted.

Bushnell TRS is in your price range and very useable although I’ve never tried one on a pistol. It will mount directly to your existing rail. Reliable and takes a beating as well.

I had a Bushnell TRS on my Ruger 22/45 target for quite a while. Worked great. Currently have a Burris FF2 on it.

Cylee on amazon works pretty well. I have one on a budget 9mm range toy build. So far, it is still working.

Keep an eye on the Black Friday deals. Academy ran a deal on the Burris Fastfire a couple years back.

Holosun 407 series-- check their amazon store- they are getting close to the $200 mark and that would be a great value for a true quality red dot that you could put onto a carry gun later on if needed/wanted.

I have a Bushnell Advance Reflex sight on my Browning target .22 pistol. Sweet little sight and priced right.

Keep an eye on the Black Friday deals. Academy ran a deal on the Burris Fastfire a couple years back. I have a Burris Fastfire on my 45 springfield and it works well, have had it for a few yrs. Takes the recoil and slide rack and never looses zero.proably a couple thousand rounds with it.
