I had a bumper crop this year and pretty much overnight they went from green to brown. I watched the deer for hours overnight and they are getting back on the corn pretty quickly.

None for me. No rain and the trees didn’t bear. The deer are hitting the corn.

I brought a bag I picked up at home and dumped about 5lbs in each of 2 pens on Saturday afternoon. Deer we’re walking over them to get corn. Looks like they’re still there in the pen I’m hunting this morning.
Maybe they just don’t like “city” acorns!

Not many here except along the creeks and river where they could get a little water. What few acorns we have are small.
Adios,
Gary

We got a ton of acorns too. Bow season it was as if the deer had disappeared. Now, they are out grazing in the food plots pretty heavily. Still not hitting corn very hard. IMO, they were heavy feeding on acorns in Oct, then the heavy rains came and rotted any of the remaining acorns, but greened up the pastures and food plots.

Im not used to acorns and have a hard time evaluating what’s going on with them. From what I can tell I somewhat mirror the above.

Same situation for me. In the few areas where the trees (mostly White Oaks) could get some moisture, normal size acorns. Everywhere else very small acorns. I picked up a bunch from under a water Oak that were only the size of a pea.
