Opening day of rifle season……always a time to worry about getting up early to head out to the stand in the dark, trying to be quiet, getting lost, finding someone else in your blind, or worrying about getting attacked by a wild hog, or a black panther, or finding a big swarm of yellow jackets in your blind, or my favorite: falling asleep and waking up to a snake crawling up your pant leg. Other than that, it should be a good hunt.

You all have a good hunt tomorrow. I'm up all night cooking brisket because I've volunteered to be camp cook for our annual opening day BBQ. I did get a chance to sneak out to my buddies blind so that he'll see this at 6:30 am when he opens his blind and it's still dark...
Lol. I hope he doesn’t have a heart attack. Good luck everyone. I’m hunting with grandkids in Leon county this weekend, my oldest grandson put down his rifle and only bow hunts now.

Yes, if he doesn't stroke out, break his neck, etcetera, would y'all help him out and get him a decent chair? Sure is an extremely nice blind with a crap chair.

The pee bucket adds some class though

The grandson dropped me off and there was a nice buck by the box. I use to take him out, but now he drops me off. He’s bow only these day, like I use to be, I’m hunting with a rifle now.
Already started with the pig this morning. I was corning out this morning with a 5 gallon bucket when a large boar came in . Seems he didn’t care if I was there are not . Tried to run him off without firing a shot but he wasn’t having it . He gave me a half hearted charge so I decided he could have the corn. Now the question is if he is still out there at day light do I shoot him . I hate pigs . They can ruin a good deer hunt.
Good luck everyone, got the phone on silent. Deer were in the back yard at 9:00 PM last night and in the pasture at 5:45 AM this morning. Hopefully they will move during daylight.
One shot so far this morning is mine. Shot the biggest boar out of a large sounder. We’ve seen very little movement in the AM so far this deer season and not expecting to see much besides pigs or hopefully a doe until the evening.
Nice shooting! Hoping to get a shot tomorrow night
If you look back over your life are you fully satisfied you pleased the Maker of Creation. Are you fully assured that you have trusted in His Son, Jesus Christ, for your salvation. Are you confident that you have a definite hope of going to Heaven?
Most everyone I hunt with just watched them this morning. One of the members got married 5 days ago. He shot a mid 140’s 8 point right out of the gate this morning. I think he has things other than hunting on his mind but he was on the stand less than a week after tying the knot.

Tell him it's better to do certain things s-l-o-w-l-y.
