When is peak rut in central Texas? The southern rut map on onx says peak rut is nov 10. I always was told it was late December and early January? Did I get it wrong or did OnX?

Sounds more like South TX rut to me, late mid Dec. to 2nd week or so of Jan. Have heard Central TX is more Thanksgiving to mid Dec.

Mid November to Thanksgiving, and then week of Christmas until New Years.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Mills county, peak is Nov 13-17.

In Lee County the bucks were still paired up 2 weeks ago and I was seeing good numbers but this morning it was extremely slow so I believe they have started chasing does, probably not peak yet but I doubt it’s far off.

Central Texas, at least Hays and Comal counties, are usually done by Thanksgiving for the initial rut. There’s always some does that didn’t get bred and cycle again later.
