Posted in the wrong thread, but 7, 8, and 9th were the best mourning dove hunting I've ever seen. We had 1000s of birds in Concho County just South of Paint Rock on our deer lease.

I hunt two places in Bell County ten miles apart. One has lots of doves and the other not so many. Both fields are in sunflowers and have rows shredded in the SF. Going again this afternoon.

This last front didn't push anything in for me. Hoping this next one does.

Had an unexpected good hunt yesterday afternoon in Baylor Co over a sunflower patch.

I know it's kinda random, but this one of the sunset after picking up I thought was cool.

Bird numbers I break down into 3 catagories, 1) birds everywhere 2) birds in spots, or 3) no birds. In Texas right now we are category 2. smile ani

Major front coming in tomorrow into Friday, might just send the rest of our birds down and some from CO and other states.

We had almost 3" of rain last week so I thought the wheat seed would germinate and the doves would be gone. Yesterday while running around on the 4 wheeler topping off feeders and fixing game cams I noticed there were a lot always hanging out by an old well with mesquites around it, between a couple wheat fields. Setup there this morning and had a good hunt. They are still hitting the fields.

Mowed more sunflowers down yesterday and today. If they show up, hopefully I can hold them.

Lots of doves in one field yesterday while few in another field we hunt. They were in standing sunflowers and hard to hunt. Needed more shooters. Weather looks to be changing so next week may be good.

Looking for a hunt for my son and I on Sunday (10/15) and Monday (10/16). Any recommendations for location and dove broker/guide or otherwise someone that could put us on some birds for $$?

Thanks for the lead. I am actually in DFW so was looking to keep it within 4 hours west of DFW. We usually hunt Haskell/Stamford area but haven’t been out in 3-4 years and I lost all my contacts.

I hunted a few years ago with an outfitter around Seymour that put us on birds. He texted last Friday and said he has fields loaded up right now. Give him a shout. I can't speak for what he has now, but he didn't steer us wrong. Ryan Miller 940-257-3211

Don't think I have seen anyone post about these guys this year, but in years past, they seem to always have birds. It has been on my bucket list to hunt with these guys.
