I would like a Kawasaki Mule to use at hunting lease and currently have the older carburator version at home that has been fantastic (Mule 610 XC 4x4)! However, I am concerned about the fuel injection system and keeping it running well at a Hunting Lease I only go to about 6 times per year. Anyone have experience or recommendations? I typically use Stabilize in all my fuel engines. I just am not too familiar with fuel injection in these newer models and how sensitive they are to sitting for 4-6 months.

I just want something dependable to use when I go hunting and it is hard to find small UTV 4x4 that does not have fuel injection anymore.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Fuel injection > carbs especially when not being used for long periods.

One other thing that might help is using non-ethanol gas. It's about a dollar a gallon higher but I use it in my SxS and all lawn equipment.

When you use E free fuel and are storing for 10 months. Do you run the gas out of the motor or do you add any fuel stabilizer to it when it has Fuel Injection?

I've always used Premium gas in my ATV's and SxS's with Stabil. Most of them sit for several months at a time, and a few of them stored outside. Haven't really had any problems. You don't have to use ethanol free gas in fuel injected engines if you use a fuel stabilizer. I have more problems with the batteries going dead than I do with the gas and the engine.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm coming up on two years on my two year battery in my Ranger. I need to change it at a time and place of my choosing, not when it decides to die.

My Mule PRO FXT sits for months in my garage with 87 octane fuel and it starts like a champ every time I turn the key....the only factor is the battery and when it comes time to change out I will go lithium.

LIthium batteries are the only way to go IMO....I have one in my dirt bike and it sits for months without a charge and it holds 13V with no problem.

I converted my bass boat to all lithium batteries....my current storage does not offer electric, so these batteries have sat in an enclosed metal unit for over 2 months with many days over 100 degrees and held a 99% charge.

I've also depleted the main battery 12V 150AH in the boat to not even be recognized by the onboard charger (by accident) and brought it back to life with a long charge and it just keeps going.

I can't put into words how amazed I am by the performance.

Agree with expensive gas for 4 wheelers.
