Got my new lake built finally. Took awhile with all the rain. Planting Millet and Milo now. Too late to plant corn.

At my house I got everything sprayed, plowed and planted. Corn, Milo and Millet…

Looks good Rockie. I plan on planting first week of August. Don’t really care about teal. I’d rather have a full crop for November when big ducks roll in.

Glad to see you did not get that corn in... ducks only use it at night....

What do you plant that late? And do you irrigate it?

Millet. We don’t teal hunt our farm. So if I plant first week of August, at November (90 days) I’m maxed out on growth. I do have a well that I can turn on or off at any time. But I mainly depend on rain.

I slowly start filling my 5 acre area about early October. And add a little water at a time. Helps with moisture on crop and to fill.

This was only after 1 month last year. Had to pull and control some goat weeds that got in there. But it got thick and tall by November.

We are finishing our make shift irrigation system at my house. I will be pumping water from a pond for our water source. We have 12 zones on the system. Hopefully everything goes as planned this evening and I will have pics of it watering.
