Seems like things are way out of hand. Everyone else has cameras. A system where only parents can log in.
Thoughts???
Only on front of class. No students. Even though these camera phone videos go out to everyone.
Always some opinions here.

Everyone who squealed about law enforcement needing to wear a camera should also have one monitoring every single thing they do at work too. Don’t forget having a GPS up their kazoo also.

We had too many hands wreck pickups, so they installed cameras in all our vehicles. Had they not abused their driving privileges, that wouldn’t have happened. I didn’t wreck my pickup, but I was part of the group, so I got a camera. One thing leads to another, you know.

I don’t have kids so I don’t track a lot of this stuff, but I’ve heard folks around my neighborhood talking about watching the classroom cameras. Not sure which district or school, but it’s already a thing in some areas

I know daycares do. Unsure about any school districts.
Special needs classrooms are required by law.

I want the pledge of allegiance and consequences for bad behavior brought back into schools. That's what I want.

Yes, so there is evidence of what kids did before the teacher needed to take action to protect themselves and/or other students. They would also provide undeniable evidence of what kids did that justified sending them to an alternative school.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I believe that it is time for accountability.
The schools resemble a sad form of daycare more than anything educational. Students are not held to an academic standard, they show up, they get moved along. Behavioral issues need to be dealt with outside of school.
Funding and resources is not the issue. Our school system is a black hole for money and resources. Administrations are incredibly bloated and will continue to be so until someone pulls the financial plug.
Support school choice. Let the money follow the student. Remove bad actors, students, teachers and administrators.
Everyone deserves more that what we are getting, as a society. Except the teachers union.

Body cams and dash cams have been a good thing. Takes the he said she said out of the equation. Sounds like you weren't too thrilled about it.

They evolved into a way for the administration to discipline officers for behavior completely unrelated to anything. I had a rookie who was responding to an officer in trouble and missed his freeway exit to get there. He yelled out an obscenity but there wasn’t anyone else in the car to even hear it. The administration became aware of it while watching the use of force he was responding to. He was disciplined for it and it took me a couple of months to get him to even leave the parking lot except to answer calls for service. That’s the little known effects of dash cams. It happens all the time too.

Cameras will be a good way to track behavior so the AI program can tally everyone's social score. Your kid acts up, penalize you by deductions from your yuan total in the universal basic income account the WEF manages for you. (for a nominal fee)

It happens all the time too. I could see where that would cause some animosity towards them by officers. At the same time, your example isn't a failure of the camera, but a failure of management. I would think that the same camera, in a situation where witnesses claim that a perp who got shot wasn't threatening the officer, could also show that the perp WAS threatening, would make the officer's life much easier...assuming there wasn't a failure of management.

This is a key point too often overlooked. Yes! Marc

Yes. Officers generally don't have an issue with the cameras being utilized in use of force cases. Unfortunately, every agency has at least a few administrative pricks who use them in this way.
