Yes, you guys accuse me of always playing to the drama. Well, here’s the latest. The oldest daughter’s husband’s family includes some Brits, and they want to come to the ranch this Saturday while they are in the States and do “Texas stuff”, like shooting guns and riding 4Wheelers. I said Ok to that, since they won’t spend the night and there’s only 4 folks coming. Since then they’ve invited 7 more people. The wife just worked up the nerve to tell me. Eleven people are gonna swarm in here, and heck…they might invite others. They want to be entertained, shoot up all my ammo, and be fed. The Michiganders leave on Wednesday, the mob shows up on Saturday, and the Kansas folks (moving back to Florida) will be here on Monday. I’m gonna hide in the barn.

I don’t know these Brits. I’m gonna have to be nice for days at a stretch. I don’t know if I can do it.

Luckily, I just reloaded a bunch of 38 and 357. And not too low on 223. Not gonna let ‘em waste 6.5 Grendel ammo. And I have a bunch of 9mm, and I’ll make ‘em police the brass. And boy howdy, I have mucho 22 LR. They can shoot up my Thunderbolts. I actually like that idea.

Lord, give me strength. And you guys…take your shots…enjoy…

Tell them to go buy as much ammo they plan to shoot, before they come.

And bring whatever they want to eat.

You guys might laugh, but it did occur to me to invite Ol Thumper to run things. But the whole mob might run away screaming. As for food, the daughter says she’ll bring it. That sounds good, but she isn’t any sort of a cook (can’t cook at all) and probably has no idea what amount of food or what type to bring.

Oh, it’ll be Ok. It just comes as an unwanted surprise with bad timing. Venting to you guys doesn’t bring me as much grief as venting to the wife. And, my wife will work too hard getting this thing right. That’s not good.

I personally, don't care for strangers in my house. In my younger days I was the life of the party...not so much now. I guess you can be thankful that you have a place everyone wants to visit.

Any and all shooting will be highly supervised by me. Safety has to be absolute.

Be careful on the range, that many strangers need full time attention. Have them bring ammo so they can see the costs of shooting.
My old neighbor brought 2 friends out to my place to shoot and I was watching them shoot. One knucklehead didn't know the difference between a 20 ga. And a 12 ga. Let's just say I'm so glad I was watching.

For the Brits being allow to shoot will be a real treat and should be very grateful to you.

As for the food let the wife pick up the stuff and give the bill to the daughter.

All shooting will be one person at a time, with me right there. Lack of safety will not be tolerated.

I hope you know I’m busting your chops, I’d make the best of it but no way I’d have more than 1 Gun loaded at a time and they’d all be off limits unless I handed it to them. I honestly trust very few people with loaded guns around me but maybe you feel differently. Good luck and don’t be hitting on the old Brits!!!

I emailed the daughter to get her hubby to bring a case of beer, with Dos Equis preferred, bring mucho food, and all the 9mil ammo he has, and to buy some 38 and 357. If they want something other than beer, they’ll have to bring that too.

The young girls are 25 and 23, I told Roll-Tide they were cute, but I really don’t know.
