I have a a handful of mounts and various taxidermy (nilgai half pedestal, Full tanned nilgai hide, nilgai euro, pronghorn euro) that I need to get out to CA and am curious if anyone has any recommendations for shipping outside of building a crate and sending them?

Rent a U-Haul and drive them yourself.

California is weird; check to ensure that possession of the nilgai mounts is legal there.

ive had all kinds of texas exotics shipped to california over the years without any difficulty is cheapest to just get them crated or boxed up and shipped i would think. is easiest to load a car or van with them and drive em. these trophy transporters folks were outrageously expensive IMO. i got quote to send 10 african mounts from taxidermist in texas to california, was at least $2500. the most recent inquiry i did was for 4'x4'x8' crate was ~$1100, plus whatever crate charge would be and $500 for that was what i was figuring on high end. if its a handful like say 5 or so, i bet crate be even cheaper.

Wild Game Trophy Shipping. Contact Alan Porter at 970-712-0946. I have personally used them and had an alligator sent to me. Highly recommend!
