When the Ruger LCP's first came out, I purchased one for my wife as a concealed carry that you can hide most anywhere. She kept it for a few months but had trouble working the slide on it so I sold it to a friend. Recently when I was at the NRA Convention in Indy working with Ruger, I handled the LCP Max and the slightly longer grip made it fit more comfortable in my hand. After arriving back home and having to spend more time in San Antonio at several events, I realized that it would be nice to have a small pistol that I can carry in my pocket to help defend a 70 year old man. I am waiting on a case of Hornady 380 Auto 90 gr. FTX Critical Defense ammo to arrive so that I can do a little time on the range.
Adios,
Gary

I have the max and really like it. Just a smidge bigger than the old LCP with a lot more capacity. Same crappy trigger still on them though.

Yeah, trigger has to be heavy and long pull to keep the attorneys happy, especially since there's no safety. I agree the small increase in size made it feel way better.
Adios,
Gary

I carry the Ruger LCP Max, as well. If you swap out the 10 round mag for the available 12 round mag, it is much more comfortable to handle and provides a decent place for the pinky to rest.

Ruger doesn’t recommend +P ammo due to the thin barrel. Shoot a couple hundred rounds to loosen things up and a good cleaning and it's ready for EDC.
